Walking Tour following the river to Preveli beach from Plakias

A pleasant 8-kilometer hike, suitable for nature-loving people. It goes through the Kourtaliotiko gorge down to the palm beach of Preveli, with fantastic changes of the environment while hiking. You will admire a spectacular view and numerous wild Cretan flowers.

Our walk starts in the middle of the gorge at the church of Agios Nikolaos.

First you will see the Kourtaliotiko waterfalls, then you will make your way through the gorge along the river until the Venetian Bridge. You'll take a break here in the tavern for a drink. Then the hike will pass through hills with olive trees, and you will walk along the slope of the gorge to your destination—the palm beach of Preveli.
Here you will have time to relax on the beach, and you will return to Plakias by boat.
